Mission Possible Wins Global Coaching Award Through The International Coaching Federation

At Mission Possible, coaching isn’t just a program component. Coaching is at the heart of how we transform lives. Our coaching culture empowers every associate to build confidence, set goals, and take tangible steps toward sustainable employment.

That’s why we are thrilled to share that Mission Possible has won a global award for coaching through the International Coaching Federation! We were awarded the Distinguished Coaching Catalyst in the Social Impact Category!

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the governing body for the global coaching industry. The ICF Coaching Impact Award recognizes and honours both organizations and individuals from all over the world who have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to professional coaching and transforming lives.

The Distinguished Coaching Catalyst honours influential world leaders and organizations who are catalysts for change and who exemplify a coaching mindset in their approach to leadership, decision-making, and engagement with others. We are honoured to receive this prestigious award amongst other distinguished coaches and organizations. 

Tara, our Director of Programs, flew to San Diego, California, to represent Mission Possible and accept the award.  

“It was such a meaningful experience to receive this recognition for our coaching program from the ICF. We have seen firsthand the transformative impact of coaching for associates, and it was such an honour to share our work with the global coaching community. Seeing how the impact of our coaching program has grown in the past decade is something that we’re incredibly proud of, because it means that more and more members of our Downtown Eastside community are able to experience the value of coaching directly.” 

At Mission Possible, as part of our Employment Readiness Program, associates are assigned a certified coach who they meet with every other week, in addition to working their assigned shifts. Coaching is crucial and mandatory to the MP process. For many of our participants, it’s the first time they’ve had someone walk alongside them as they set goals and imagine a new future. We measure success in goals achieved, training completed, and jobs secured — but the real impact shows up in renewed confidence, stronger self-belief, and the ability to take ownership of one’s choices. Coaching isn’t just for participants, though. It shapes our whole culture at Mission Possible, where staff also receive regular coaching so that together we create an environment where people are always seen as capable and supported to grow.

One participant told us, “The coaching helped me understand myself, set goals, and feel like someone truly cared.” That sense of dignity and belief in one’s future is powerful.

Coaching is an essential part of our Employment Readiness Program, and the life changing impact it has on our program participants is undeniable. Thank you to our incredible group of coaches at Mission Possible who make this all possible!
