The Power of Community with Strand: Gala 2025 Gold Partner

As long-time supporters of Mission Possible over the last several years, Strand continues to show their commitment through their participation in many of our different initiatives. Most recently, this past November, as a Gold Partner at the 17th Annual Mission Possible Gala - an event they have supported since 2018, as well as yearly at Community Clean Up Day through financial support and active participation in cleaning up the community. 

This partnership stands strong on the foundations of shared values: “Both organizations share a commitment to compassion, integrity, and community stewardship, and believe that real, long-term change happens when individuals are supported and given meaningful opportunities to move forward in their lives with dignity and respect,” one Strand employee, shares.  

Moreover, when asked about what motivates Strand to continue supporting Mission Possible year after year, a Strand employee explains that it “comes from seeing the real difference Mission Possible makes in people’s lives. Over the years, we’ve built a strong relationship based on trust, shared values, and a genuine belief in the work they do. Mission Possible leads with care, humility, and purpose, and that shows in every program and every person they support… Knowing our support plays even a small part in those journeys is incredibly meaningful to us, and it’s why this partnership continues to matter so deeply to Strand.” 

Another Strand employee shares that “Volunteering with Mission Possible allowed me to see the power of community in the Downtown Eastside firsthand which really resonated with me. The organization’s welcoming and supportive culture is a true example of how togetherness and community strength can generate a lasting, positive impact and meaningful change.”

Reflecting on the 2025 Mission Possible Gala, having the opportunity to connect with graduated associates of the Employment Readiness Program remains a highlight for Strand even after all these years. “Hearing directly from the Momentum Award winners about how Mission Possible changed their lives was incredibly powerful. Listening to their personal journeys — how they found Mission Possible and the gratitude they expressed for the support they received — really underscored how meaningful these programs are. They provide people with the dignity, confidence, and sense of purpose everyone deserves in their day-to-day lives”, a Strand employee who attended Gala shares. 

Looking forward, Strand shares, “We’re proud to stand alongside Mission Possible and support the critical work they do within our community. Strand looks forward to supporting Mission Possible as they empower individuals to experience a renewed sense of purpose and in tandem, strengthen communities to create lasting change for years to come.” 

Through partners like Strand, Mission Possible continues to provide employment readiness training, supportive work opportunities, and pathways toward long-term stability for individuals rebuilding their lives. We are extremely grateful to have built this meaningful partnership with Strand.
