Chief Development Officer

Derek Weiss is the Chief Development Officer at Mission Possible, where he leads the Communications and Development team.

With more than 15 years of experience in fundraising and non-profit leadership, he is passionate about helping donors connect with the causes that resonate most deeply with them.

Derek has supported dozens of organizations in achieving significant growth by blending data-driven strategy with heart-centered leadership. His work has expanded awareness, strengthened resources, and built lasting partnerships for charities across Canada, including over a decade in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Derek holds an MA from Regent College, is a Certified Fundraising Executive with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and is a Certified Leadership Coach through Essential Impact.

He loves walking slowly in forests, writing about soulful living, and building Lego creations with his 7-year-old son.
