ABOUT THE JOB 
 
Position type: 24 hours/week, Permanent Position
 
Hours: Monday 8am - 4:30pm, Tuesday to Friday 12.30pm - 4.30pm
 
Compensation: $21.81 per hour

  • Above the age of majority (19 years)
  • Legally allowed to work in BC, Canada

Job Summary: 
The Front Desk Assistant (FDA) is the first point of contact for program participants, visitors and staff. They will generally work alongside the Administrative team at Mission Possible. They may also be assigned to perform administrative tasks for other teams for some days depending on the needs of the organization: Development, Employment Readiness Program (ERP), Administration, and MP Enterprises (MPE).
 
Working Conditions:
The FDA will report to the Financial Operations Coordinator and will work at the front desk of our lobby, in an office environment. The FDA will greet guests and employees, assisting them with inquiries and administrative needs. The FDA will have access to a company computer on site that they will use only to complete assigned tasks.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sit at the front desk greeting and assisting guests and employees with inquiries and administrative needs.
  • Supporting the Admin team to manage phone calls, answer questions, organize events, manage databases, maintain office supplies, and contribute to an enjoyable shared office space by greeting and assisting guests and employees
  • Assist with office improvement and IT support
  • Perform admin assistant tasks assigned by the Admin team
  • Assist the programming team with statistics management, partnership development, and administrative support as needed
  • Assist in the facilitation of information sessions and Employment Readiness Workshops workshops.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the planning of events and provide additional communication and development support needed
  • Tasks may include: Data entry and analysis, file organization, stuffing envelopes with marketing materials, phone calls and email correspondence, etc.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language. Fluency in other languages is an asset.

  • Strong computer and technical support skills
  • Strong skills using Google suite applications (docs, sheets, slides, forms).
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience working in administrative or assistant positions is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a non-profit environment is an asset.
