A Message from our Chief Empowerment Officer Dear Friends, This year marks a meaningful milestone for me: 10 years serving as Executive Director of Mission Possible. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing people take some of the most courageous steps of their lives. Whether it’s walking through our doors for the first time, showing up to a workshop, or heading into a shift after years away from the workforce, each step represents determination, resilience, and hope. And none of it would be possible without your support. |
This year, we saw something truly encouraging: more people crossing the finish line. We celebrated 61% of graduated associates transitioning into stable employment. At the same time, only about 11.5% of those seeking opportunity were able to access our program this year. The need continues to far outweigh what we can currently provide.
In this year’s annual report, we are honoured to highlight Rochelle’s story. Stories like this stay with me because they represent not only personal transformation, but the collective impact of a community that believes in second chances. The work we do at Mission Possible isn’t always flashy. It’s steady, relational, and rooted in showing up, day after day. But over the past 10 years, I’ve seen firsthand how this work changes lives.

Rochelle grew up in a remote community in Northern Manitoba where she became wrapped up in substance use from an early age. She knew something needed to change when she hit rock bottom, losing her house, kids, and job. With coaching and wraparound support, Rochelle was able to get her life back on track. After completing her 6-month contract on the Clean Team, Rochelle knew that the Peer Support Program was the next step for her. She has now successfully landed a permanent position as a Support Worker at the very same organization where she started her recovery journey. “I'm learning how to love myself again, and how to be a mother, a daughter, and a sister... I've become a better version of myself.” |
