Sarah

Sarah began working with MP Maintenance in the summer of 2010.  When Sarah came to Mission Possible, she was a young single mother who was really trying to take steps to make a better life for her and her daughter.  She often shares her story of how she ended up on the streets of Vancouver at the age of 15.  She spent years addicted to drugs, in and out of jail and SROs in the neighbourhood.  After giving birth to her daughter, she received the help that she needed to get off the streets and into housing.  During her time in transition, she got to know Linda Green, an employee of Mission Possible.  Sarah was encouraged to apply for a job with MP Maintenance doing graffiti removal two days a week.  Since that time, she has stepped out into other work in the social sector.  She is working toward a long-term goal of going to college to equip her to work with those in need in the Downtown Eastside.

Sandra

Sandra started working at Mission Possible through MP Recycling in August 2010.  Throughout her life, Sandra has struggled with substance abuse, prostitution, and acceptance from those around her. At MP Recycling, Sandra has been able to use her gifts, develop healthy relationships, and help those around her. Since starting work at MP Recycling, Sandra has been promoted to a Lead Technician and now has a leadership role among the women. Sandra’s successful outcome is what we strive for, for all of the ladies who work for us, to find work that is meaningful and allows them to pursue their dreams and goals.

Trevor

Trevor is our most dependable volunteer.  He’s been volunteering at Mission Possible for a really long time, helping in the kitchen, doing food runs, and so much more.  He’s the first to show up and the last to leave almost every day.  Trevor has an entrepreneurial spirit and is always thinking of ways that Mission Possible can raise money and ways that he can make a difference.  Mission Possible became Trevor’s family and his home.  Last year he began working with Mission Possible by making deliveries between businesses in the Strathcona BIA.  He has been so great at connecting with business owners and has given Mission Possible a great reputation.  He works so hard and asks everyday for more deliveries.  Trevor has struggled with issues related to poverty and addiction but he has so much passion to make a difference in the community and in his own life and Mission Possible is here to support him as he makes the change!
