Brian Postlewait - Executive Director

Brian Postlewait moved to Vancouver, BC in 2007 to become Executive Director of Mission Possible. Since that time Mission Possible has come to be known as one of the most innovative, entrepreneurial and partner-friendly organizations in Vancouver's social sector.

In 2011 Business in Vancouver recognized Brian as one of Vancouver's top 40 CEO's under 40 years of age.

Mission Possible has gone from a staff of three to now over fifteen permanent staff. Including local residents employed through two highly touted social enterprises, MP Maintenance and MP Recycling, Mission Possible employs over 35.

"I go to bed dreaming about, and jump out of bed thinking about how I can create another job. We can't create jobs fast enough. So many of our friends in the Downtown Eastside are simply looking for an opportunity for meaningful work. An opportunity is what we are going to give them." - Brian Postlewait

Since birth, Brian has struggled with a slow-growing tumour, leaving him with an impressionable facial difference. He uses his own experience as a reminder that beyond first impressions, people often have hidden abilities, capacities, talents and gifts to offer the world. They just need someone to give them an opportunity, support, and encouragement to let them shine.

When not working, Brian can be found at home with his wife Rebecca and children Madelyn and William. His most relaxing moments are spent catching a baseball game at home, but preferably live from the stands of Nat Bailey or Safeco Field.
